Hearing Aid Waterproof Technology

The most common occurrences of hearing aids being wetted include short circuits and condensed water. Condensation may also hinder the chemical reaction of the zinc-vacuum battery through the pores, causing the hearing aid to be de-energized, the battery to leak or even corrode the movement. Nano-coating

The hearing aid industry has always wanted to solve the problem of hearing aids getting wet. Methods tried in recent years include: protective coatings, protective covers, drying tools, special desiccants, and the like. Among them, the common method of moisture-proof from the fuselage is to put a “new clothes” on the ear-back hearing aid – nano-coating. The nano-coating makes the surface of the waterproof hearing aid body very smooth and flat, reducing the contact tension between water and oil. In the past, due to the effect of capillary action, moisture or sweat easily enters the hearing aid through the gap, and the nano-coating greatly weakens the effect, reduces the cleaning and maintenance of the hearing aid, and improves the reliability and service life of the hearing aid.

Water resistant VS waterproof

The words “water resistance” and “waterproof” often appear around you, and they can be used interchangeably in many cases. In fact, they are not rigorous. When something is defined as water resistance, it means that it can withstand rain, snow, sweat and other general moisture, and does not mean that it can be submerged in water. On the other hand, something is defined as waterproof, which means that the product can be submerged in water as a whole. The nano-coatings described above are more resistant to water than to waterproof.
