When I heard about it, my first reaction was that the elder brother suffered from temporary hearing loss. There are many kinds of temporary hearing loss that can be caused. I will briefly describe them here.

First, noise.

We need to know that our ears are quite fragile and sensitive to high-intensity noise, especially those above 90 decibels.

If the noise deafness is serious, it will also cause irreversible hearing loss. Whether it is temporary or irreversible depends on the intensity of the noise and the distance between the noise and your ear.

Second, the ear canal is blocked.

When some foreign matters or earwax are blocked, we will not only feel hearing loss, but also have a certain sense of ear tightness

Generally, if there is temporary hearing loss caused by blockage of foreign matters in the ear, as long as the foreign matters are taken out, the hearing can be restored. If you want small foreign matters such as beads or beans and they are deep in the ear canal, don’t take them out by yourself. Go to the hospital to find a doctor, and they will use professional props to help you take them out.

The third is ototoxic drugs.

The hearing loss caused by ototoxic drugs is no longer a small number. Some drugs will cause temporary hearing loss after use, even permanent hearing loss, which is irreversible.

Therefore, before we use the medicine, we must ask the doctor whether the medicine belongs to ototoxic drugs and side effects, and use it after confirming that it is correct.
